TIFFIN, OHIO – May 22, 2019 – Ballreich Snack Food
Company, acquired by a Northwest Ohio-based investor group last month, today announced two important developments designed to spur the Company's development and growth.

  • Don Mount, former Vice President of Contract Manufacturing at Marion, OH Wyandot Snacks, joins the Company’s Board of Directors as its first independent director.
  • Ballreich has rejoined SNAC International – the leading international trade Industry association of the snack food industry.

Mount is an accomplished snack industry executive. He has worked in or managed in nearly every key function at Wyandot including Quality Assurance, Product Development, Tech Services, Production, Plant Management, and Operations. He currently serves as senior advisor to Wyandot’s President & CEO Rob Sarlls, and has contributed significantly to the Company’s rise as a leading contract manufacturer in the better-for-you segment of the snacks food industry.

Ballreich CEO & President Steve Dandurand praised Mount’s leadership and hands-on experience. “Don is a widely respected industry expert. His knowledgeable and independent voice will help strengthen our understanding of changing industry dynamics as well as contribute to enhanced manufacturing and financial performance.”

Dandurand reaffirmed the Company’s intent to maintain its status as Northwest Ohio’s leading potato chip brand. “In addition to upgrading manufacturing capabilities and expertise, the Company intends to pursue additional business opportunities in the private label snack food space,” he said. “Don Mount’s guidance, a reenergized workforce team, and access to SNAC International’s global resources will help drive the brand’s resurgence and future success.”

Ballreich Snacks manufactures the most popular local brand of potato chips and related snacks in Northwest Ohio and parts of Indiana and Michigan. Based in Tiffin, Ohio, the Company employs 55 people. In April 2019 a group of local investors purchased the nearly 100 year-old company.
